September 25th, 2018. The Beauty Cluster Barcelona, an entity formed by more than 150 companies in the value chain of the cosmetics industry, has organized the first edition of the Barcelona Olfaction Congress. A unique event of the perfumer and fragrances sector held at the Parc Científic de Barcelona on September 20th and 21st.
The Barcelona Olfaction Congress was born with the aim of promoting knowledge of the world of essences, perfumes and olfactory science in the Catalan capital. In this way, responds to the demand of the sector, which for some time asked for days of these characteristics.
During the two days of the Congress, almost 30 speakers have made known their research, reflections and projects on the subject. Among them, the master perfumer, Rosendo Mateu, who gave the speech of opening of the Congress, the moment in which he highlighted the evolution of the industry and the importance of events of this caliber for the world of fragrances.
The event has had an exhibition area of scientific posters with the latest advances in research with application in this sector. There was also the opportunity to meet new challenges presented by other industries to the olfactory world (textiles, furniture, food, neuromarketing …). This first edition also featured an experiential olfactory space where attendees could put their olfactory skills to the test.
The congress was attended by about 150 professionals from the perfume industry, who wanted to know the latest innovations in technologies, R & D and new applications of the smell in the health sector. All this has been coordinated by the essences and fragrances working group of the Beauty Cluster Barcelona.
