Fragrances are found in various types of products across the world: cosmetics, household care products, hygiene products, candles, toys, etc.
They are regulated under the IFRA Code of Practice, which provides recommendations for good operating practices as well as guidelines that ensure that fragrances are safe. The IFRA Code of Practice includes standards, which may limit or ban the use of a fragrance depending on the product category.
The 49th Amendment of IFRA standards was published on 10th January 2020. This new revision has a regulatory and toxicological impact and affects both existing and new creations.
